How a beginner will get to understand Escape from Tarkov
Tarkov is an interesting battle royale project with military simulation mechanics. The player will have to choose his side in the presented conflict and learn how to get equipment, weapons, ammunition and accessories for himself, which will strengthen and simplify the process of shooting at the enemy.
Game Basics
You must choose your side – PMC Terra or PMC Bear.
These are private military companies through which the United States and Russia solve the Tarkov issue without involving the regular army and solve problems with special forces and mercenaries.
The main difference between the parties is more visual and ideological.
Terra use NATO uniforms and American weaponry and ammo, and speak English even if the player has different settings.
BEAR uses Russian and Soviet weapons – AK, Makarov and so on. The uniform of special forces soldiers and the characteristic cartridge 7.62. Fighters use Russian for communication.
Farm and make money
In Escape from Tarkov, it is important not only to master the basic mechanics of movement and shooting, but also to be able to get equipment, weapons, ammunition and accessories for weapons.
Money also plays an important role, it is used to purchase a character boost, body armor and weapons, a helmet, insurance of inventory items is paid, a larger backpack and cartridges, and weapon accessories are bought.
Raid
One of the most effective in terms of making money is a raid – you go into a special zone and look for hiding places and storage points for especially valuable items of equipment and weapons.
An important role is played by cards that open up the opportunity to get bonus trophies. The chance of them falling out is quite small, but here are the ways to get them:
- Buy from other players.
- Find on the field of pain with a minimum chance.

Combat sorties
The second most effective way to get weapons, equipment, ammunition and accessories for weapons will be combat sorties.
You must enter the territory where the battles took place earlier, or they were left by local residents, and start searching for valuable property and military equipment.
You may come across weapons of various qualities, cartridges, equipment and body armor, helmets and various items for the interior of the room. All this can and should be collected to strengthen your own character, or the subsequent sale of the guild of merchants to one of the NPCs that specializes in this type of goods.
Be careful – the lands are teeming with bandits, who, although they have weak equipment, will be dangerous in large numbers and always be on the alert – there may be representatives of other PMCs on the territory.
If you die, you will lose everything that was on you, except for the items that you insured in advance, or put in a special case, but the number of cells is limited.
There is a trick on how to earn money and resources without risking the main character – rent a Wild one.
Wild is a neutral character, essentially a bandit, whose control you rent from a guild of buyers. The higher your level of loyalty with them, the longer you will be able to use a temporary character.
Important points regarding the wild character:
- The character has a limited time of use and in order to transfer the accumulated resources to the main character, you must have time to enter the combat zone, collect everything you need and have time to evacuate – you can always pay for a quick evacuation, but you will have to wait a minute of real time.
- Wild – a neutral character. You will not be touched by bandits, but other players can attack. If you attack another player, then your level of trust with the faction of merchants will fall and this will have a bad effect on your gaming capabilities.
- The wild starter kit is terrible – there will be random low-quality weapons, bad ammo, outdated equipment. The higher your level of trust with merchants, the stronger the equipment of the rented character will be.
- If you kill a PMC in savage status, you will receive a noticeable increase in the rating level and will be able to rent a Scav for a much longer period of time.
- If you die playing as a Scav, you only lose the property that the character had at the time of the lease and what you managed to collect, and not trophies from the main hero.
Shooting
In the style of a military simulator in Tarkov, the laws of physics and ballistics apply – this means that the bullet will not fly in a straight line and the player will have to deal with the mechanics of shooting and skillfully adjust the sight to the height and distance of the enemy.
Shoot single – this method saves ammo and allows you to achieve a high level of aimed shooting and composure. Works mostly for long distances.
Fire in bursts – shooting at three rounds is notable for lethal power in battles at medium distances. You send three bullets evenly in a line and triple your hit chance.
Shoot with automatic fire – effective up close and when you are face to face with the enemy. It is erratic but overwhelming shooting at targets, forcing them to accept death, or quickly seek cover from so many bullets. An infantryman can fire up to 30 rounds in a few seconds. It is worth remembering that if you do not kill the target in such attacks, then the roles will change, so shoot quickly, but aim and try to think over the next step.
